Sicktory! (Weigh-in Monday)
See what I did there? Wordplay win. Haaaaahaha.
… Okay, I may have had to get to work extra early this morning, and I maaaaay be slightly loopy from the lack of sleep (I stupidly started watching Supersize Me last night right before bed and couldn’t turn away.) But I still think it’s funny!
Anyway, as this post title implies, I’m still a little under the weather. I don’t think that the race this weekend helped heal my ailing body too much, but at least it’s nothing like it was last week. On to brighter things!
Starting Weight: 246 lbs.
Last Week’s Weight: 198.0 lbs.
This Week’s Weight: 196.4 lbs.
This Week’s Loss: -1.6 lbs.
Total Loss-to-Date: 49.6 lbs.
Hooray! A 1.6 pound loss? I’ll take it!! This loss officially allows me to cross off another one of my weight goals:
Lose 20% of my original body weight (-49.2 lbs/196.8 lbs)
Yep! I’ve officially lost over 20% of my original body weight! How crazy is that?!
I’ll fully admit that I was hoping to be able to shed off at least two full libbies this week, bringing me total loss of FIFTY POUNDS since August (!!!) but I guess I’ll have to wait one more week until I can truly celebrate that milestone. Hopefully this will mean two straight weeks of celebrating weight loss goals!
After over a month of plateauing, I’m just so happy to start seeing some progress. One day last week I took a sneak peek of my weight and saw 194 on the scale, too! Of course, it was after 2 days of not really eating much due to being sick, but still… it was an exciting preview of things to come.
Holy crap.
50 pounds.

May 2010
That’s a lot of weight.

January 2011
Whoosh.

Congrats Gretchen! You look amazing!
Let me know if you’re ever in Nashville-we should hang out!
Well i’m sorry you’re still sick but congrats on losing more poundage- i’m sure after next week you can celebrate 50 lbs (isn’t that like your average 4th grader??)!
FANTASTIC! Keep it up! 50 is a nice round number.
Well done…and in a measured, healthy fashion that is all the more likely to be permanent. Well done and keep it going!!
I think your dad said it best… 50 pounds is impressive, but the genuine lifestyle change you’ve made to get there is much more so, and likely to be permanent.
Congrats Gretcho! Looking forward to celebrating your birthday soon!
Here’s hoping that it’s DEFINITELY a permanent change. And YAYYYYY BIRTHDAYAYAYYAYA!
Hahaha, it was the TRUTH! That was one rough, rough run…
You look good girl!

Yay, congrats!! I love the dress you’re wearing in the January pic! Hottie patottie!
Thanks!! It is pretty fab, ain’t it? Too bad I’m going to eventually shrink out of it… I mean, not really too bad, but you know what I mean.
Wow! What a remarkable change–it’s such a complex feeling looking back at those old photos. You’ll never go back to that weight!
Be proud!!
Thanks Lea! Yeah… it’s kind of weird to think about, when I *really* start thinking about it. But it’s a great feeling, too! Now I just need to work on not feeling remorseful that I didn’t do this SOONER!
(PS – I’ve recently started tweeting back and forth with Kate in Marketing at Embrace – I feel like your whole company and I are becoming BFFs! Hahahahaha
